9th Feb, 2013: Damn shitty weather but I couldn’t just let it slide. Felt
real heavy and couldn’t gather speed as I had anticipated. Tire out real quick
which leaves me with two main issues that I need to sort out in short order. I
had a bad cold during the week which interfered with my weekly training. I was
reduced to a sitting duck and in the process gained some weight but I doubt if that could've made me that slow. Maybe its the damp air but still the excess
baggage has to go ASAP. Due to the excess baggage, my knees could not withstand the pounding on the tarmac - I had to avoid the muddy dirt paths lest I risk an injury. I better have one shitty run but remain injury free for the rest of the coming days - that's my motto this year.
My thyroid was also acting
up, tonsils and shit – I gotta check it out in terms of bacterial infection. I
got tired way too early, I couldn’t complete my 30km run. I was done by 27kms,
very unusual – my random glucose levels must’ve been really down because I just
couldn’t speed up despite the nice temperature. I ran a record 5 mins per kilometer in 4 instances in one run...that was one hell of a beatdown!
29kms in 2:16:12 - average pace of 4'42" per km (12.74km/hr)

Good work. Nobody regrets any run because each run: burns fat, makes you stronger and fitter and takes you close to your goals. Keep it up. The bad runs make you really appreciate the good runs.
True dat - a mile is a mile, bad or good, slow or fast its still a mile!
